In 2024, Inaburra launched a new model of parent engagement called the Parent Engagement Group (PEG). The PEG supersedes the Inaburra Parents & Friends Association.

What is the PEG?

The purpose of the PEG is to:

  • Provide opportunities for parents to gain insights into the life of the school
  • Support parents in their involvement in their child’s learning at home and school
  • Provide a forum for the school to seek feedback from parents
  • For parents to propose fundraising initiatives
  • Ensure funds raised by the PEG are acquitted in accordance with section 83(c) of the Education Act 1990 (NSW) and used in consultation with school leadership to provide resources and opportunities for enriching the learning environment
  • Create a welcoming and friendly community that seeks to involve all parents
  • Promote any parent volunteer opportunities

Who can attend PEG meetings?

All parents and caregivers of students attending Inaburra are ‘members’ of the PEG.

Who hosts PEG meetings?

The school Principal or the Principal’s delegate chairs PEG meetings.

How often are PEG meetings?

In-person PEG Meetings occur seven (7) times a year and are hosted at the School. Two meetings per term with the exception of Term 4 which is one meeting. Parents are notified in advance via the school calendar, and provided with the meeting agenda at least one week prior.

PEG meeting minutes and presentation slides are shared with the whole school community afterwards to give all parents the opportunity to stay informed and up-to-date on school matters discussed at the meeting.

How can I get involved in the PEG?

The best way for parents to get involved is to attend as many meetings as possible throughout the year. Opportunities for involvement in school life are regularly discussed at meetings. The PEG model provides flexibility in how parents can get involved in school life and we encourage parents to contact us with suggestions.
