What is your instrument? When and why did you start learning it?
Back when I was in Year 6 I walked into the woodwind testing room and quickly discovered those instruments were not for me. I then ventured into the brass room and chose the trombone because I thought it would be the quietest brass instrument! My brother was a baker so I figured I needed something quiet to practise while he slept!
How long have you been teaching at Inaburra for?
I was lucky enough to begin at Inaburra 8 years ago.
What do you do when you’re not teaching at Inaburra?
I play trombone! Mainly in orchestras but wherever a trombone is needed. As I write this I’m playing with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, next week I will be playing with the Sydney Symphony and last week I played with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
What is it that you love about Music at Inaburra?
Being part of the students’ musical journey in the band program at Inaburra is a magical thing. You get to see their hard work and enjoyment on stage. Being part of that is very special.
