Friday Afternoon Sailing

Our Friday Afternoon Sailing program kicked off last Friday with 20 Stage 3 students heading to the Georges River Sailing Club to join with Danebank and Scots Brighton students. Despite the gusty conditions, it was a wonderful first session with many new skills learnt! Please note there is NO Friday Afternoon Sailing next week (Week 3) due to Stage 3 Camp.

CSSA Primary Open Cricket Knockout Competition

On Wednesday 19 October our Cricket Team headed to Kellyville to play 2 games of cricket against Pacific Hills Christian School and Northern Beaches Christian School.  Many thanks to our our wonderful cricket coach Andrew Ritchie, who also provided this report:

Game 1

The first game of the day was against Pacific Hills, who sent us into bat. Openers Harrison Ceely and Talis Hardie saw off the new ball before Captain, Ryan Stoddart scored a run a ball 14, supported by Bailey May with 9 not out. Inaburra had 71 to defend. Harry Roberts picked up the first wicket and just as Pacific Hills looked to be on top the skipper Ryan brought himself on and picked up a big wicket. Judah Searles was also able to bowl extremely well (2-6 off his 3 overs). The final over had Pacific Hills needing 3 runs. Caleb Speechly was able to start brilliantly with 3 wickets in 4 balls, bringing it down to the final ball – 2 required! Pacific Hills however, were able to scamper through for a leg bye which unfortunately led to an overthrow narrowly losing the game! Special mention to Ashleigh Kelly and Alana Tripodina who played their first ever game of cricket, both bowling very well!

Game 2

Game 2 was against Northern Beaches in which Inaburra won the toss and chose to bat. We didn’t start how we would’ve liked, losing 3 quick wickets to a quality bowling attack. Ryan was able to top score with a patient 12. Inaburra unfortunately had only set 47 off 15 overs for Northern Beaches to chase. Caleb started economically (0-1 off the first over) and Ashleigh was able to bowl in some great areas, troubling the batsmen. However they proved too strong, chasing the total down.
