Welcome to the new school year! I hope you have had a restful and enjoyable holiday break. I am looking forward to hitting the ground running in 2022 and hopefully a full year of representative sport.

Recent Results

During the recent break the NSW All Schools Track and Field Championships were held at Sydney Olympic Park. Inaburra had a number of students compete at this high level. Congratulations to the following students who took home medals.

Emma Lee – Gold 100m & 200m
Jesiah Low – Bronze 3000m
Kai Taylor –  Bronze Discus & Hammer

These are some fantastic results from three extremely talented athletes.

Senior Swimming Carnival

Our annual swimming carnival is being held on Thursday 17 February at Engadine Leisure Centre. Students looking to compete need to have returned their permission slip to Mr Tolhurst in the PE staffroom by Friday 11 February. All students will be required to travel by bus to the pool meeting at 8am sharp in the gym. First race will be at 9am and a livestream link can be found here.

CSSA Cricket Knockout Competition

The CSSA Cricket Knockout Competition is fast approaching on Monday 14 February at The Ridge Sporting Complex. Inaburra will play Shire CS in both the Under and Open Division in 40 over matches. Thank you to the large number of students that attended trials last week, we have two very strong squads in 2022.

CSSA Hockey Gala Day

The CSSA Hockey gala day is on Wednesday 23 February at Macarthur Hockey Centre. Inaburra will be sending two teams along (Open Girls and Open Boys). 

NSW CIS Football Cup Knockout    

The NSW CIS Football Cup Knockout is coming up soon in the first few weeks of term. Our Open Boys will face off against Thomas Hassall Anglican College and our girls will play Emmanuel School. Round 1 games are to be played by Friday 4 March so keep your eyes peeled for more information. Squad lists will be on the sports noticeboard early Week 3.

South Met. Zone Touch Football Gala Day

The South Metropolitan Zone Touch Football Gala Day is on Monday 28 February at Waterworth Park, Tempe. Inaburra will be sending four teams along (U15/Open Girls and U15/Open Boys). Thank you to all those students who attended trials this week. Squad lists are posted on the sports noticeboard and information in regards to morning training.

CSSA/CIS Rep Nominations

CSSA Open Boys & Girls Tennis Trials 
The CSSA Open Boys and Girls tennis trials will take place on Tuesday 15 February at Blacktown. Inaburra will have a squad of seven players attending these trials. We wish them all the best.

For your calendars the CSSA Under 15 and Open Gala day will be held on Tuesday 25 October. This will be an opportunity for Under 15 and Open players to attend. This year the competition will be held in Blacktown. 

CIS Open Boys Cricket Trials
The CIS Open Boys Cricket trials will be held on Monday 28 February (squad selection) and Tuesday 1 March (team selection) with nominations closing soon on Wednesday 16 February. Please contact me if you play cricket at a high level outside of school and would like to go along to the trials. This is for highly competitive players only.

Snowsports

In 2022 Inaburra will be entering students in the Regional Interschool Snowsports Championships. In 2022 the Sydney Championships will be held from the 11-15 July at Perisher. Please be aware that it is the responsibility of parents to supervise all aspects of their child’s involvement at the competition and before and after competition each day with accommodation and meals.
