CSSA Girls Cricket
For the first time in many years the CSSA Girls Cricket event was back on the sporting calendar. It was super exciting to be able to field three Inaburra teams in the event and a big thankyou to Mr Shah for running some morning training in the lead up. The Inaburra teams were made up of a combination of new players to the game and experienced cricketers. All the students encouraged and supported one another throughout the day with plenty of fun being had. A special mention to Inaburra White captained by Lauren Buckle who ended up winning the Grand Final in a nail biter.
With four other CSSA schools competing in 2023 we look forward to the day going from strength to strength in the future.
CSSA Cricket (Round 2)
The Under 15 and Open Cricket teams headed down to sunny Wollongong on Friday 10 November to take on Illawarra Christian School in Round 2 of the CSSA Knockout. The Under 15 team batted first and found themselves in trouble after the fall of some early wickets. A steadying innings from Henry Tonkes 22 and a timely 14 by Lucas Small enabled the boys to put 109 on the board. A great bowling performance from our team had Illawarra all out for 74. Nikolas O’Flynn starred with the ball with figures of 5/18 and Ryan Stoddart was sharp in the field. Captain Ethan Stoddart also bowled well keeping the batsmen tied up. On ground 2 the Open boys batted first and set a massive 6/334 off their 40 overs. Lachlan Ritchie made a quickfire 135 and Mitchell Searles played a great innings finishing on 103n.o. The Illawarra Innings never got started with some tight bowling from the Inaburra team. Mitchell again starred with the bowl taking 6-3 including a hattrick. Both teams will now look forward to the next match.
