Greeting students every morning as they arrive at school is a terrific way to start each day. It’s always a flurry of activity at the school gates and we thank parents for their patience this week with heavy rain presenting additional challenges.
Last week however, we were blessed with wonderful sunshine for our annual Swimming Carnival. Even though, once again, we hosted a smaller group of students (competitors only) to uphold COVID-safe practices, the energy levels and enthusiasm shown were exciting and rewarding. The day showcased a wonderful display of healthy competition and determination and we thank Mrs Carroll for the countless hours of organisation she invested to ensure the smooth running of the carnival. We hope our parents enjoyed the livestream and sincere thanks go to our student and staff community for bringing the carnival into the homes of our families.
Parents would have received an email this week with updated COVID-19 guidelines. You can also find the guidelines on our website here. In addition to the guidelines outlined, can I please remind parents to continue to keep your child home if they are displaying any COVID-19 symptoms. Look for a box of RAHT kits (10) in your child’s bag this afternoon.
This week saw the return of more extra curricular activities including Junior Dance Troupe, under an expanded program of two tutors. It is thrilling to see students participating in these activities once again and we look forward to hearing and seeing the fruits of their hard work.
Thank you for your keen participation in parent/ teacher interviews this week. Please email your child’s class teacher with any further questions or comments, particularly in relation to setting goals.
Finally, I’d like to thank our teachers and support staff for their hard work and dedication in ensuring that our children are learning in a safe and supportive environment, as guidelines continue to shift and evolve. It is very rewarding to see how much the students are flourishing under their care.
God Bless,
Andrew Coote
